Conventional fixed CCTV cameras have the following constraints and limitation:

• Fixed direction (It works like a spot light)
• Narrow angle view (70° to 80°)
• Blind spots

The above constraints and limitation have made it difficult to obtain coverage of the surveillance area. As a result, more cameras and display monitors are needed to cover these blind spots; thus making it difficult for user to get total situational awareness and control on the surveillance coverage area.

Powered by BIE Omni-Scene Technology, DIY 360° Surveillance System is designed in order to resolve these constraints. With our uniquely designed camera (OmniCam 360°), DIY 360° Surveillance System allows users to view and record the entire 360° scene simultaneously without blind spots. The following illustrates how the OmniCam 360° works.

With DIY 360° Degrees Camera, surrounding scene is captured by OmniCam 360^° Degrees through an OmniScene wide angle lens using optical reflection technology. The OmniScene software will then de-warp the 360^° image to produce a panoramic image that is easier for the human eye to identify with.

You can change the specific view angle by

• Dragging the Specific Angle View Box toward the targeted angle
• Clicking on the left button of the mouse on any point in the 360° Panoramic View Box

You can also change the 360° Degrees Panoramic View angle by dragging the Panoramic View left or right.

Important note: Complements the Conventional CCTV Surveillance System

The objective of VATS development is to resolve the constraints faced by the conventional CCTV system. It is not designed to compete with the surveillance systems that are already exist in the market. In fact, it is to complement them. Since it is designed based on the industry standard, VATS can be installed and run on any existing CCTV infrastructure with only minimum modification to the infrastructure.
